Dear World,

This is Peo.

Grownups are WEIRD.

What's up with the putting me on a stranger's lap and then taking pictures? You said I was going to see Santa. I wanted to see Santa. Well, every other time I've seen Santa it's been some small light-up and/or moving decorative thingy. You promised me Santa and then sat me on some costumed guy's lap.

Hence my confused and slightly disturbed expression in this photo:

I don't get it, and it's all kind of creepy, don't you think?

As for my clothing choice that day, orange is clearly a superior colour, pumpkins rule, and I will not be held to your arbitrary holiday iconography and linear temporal structure. Pbbbblllt!

Sincerely,

Peo

Dear World,

This is Peo.

Awhile back my Mummy asked me what I'd like to dress up as for Halloween, but I didn't understand the question. Then she asked me if I'd like to be a pie and I said, "YEAH!" She said I'm her cutie pie, which I already knew.

So Mummy made me a pie costume out of re-used boxes, ribbon, and bubble wrap. It has a hat too. I love it! I ask to wear it all the time. I like being a pie. I am a yummy pie!

Today Mummy took me to a big place with lots of other kids in costumes, and I got to wear my pie costume there. We walked around and there were people in blue shirts and Mummy said if I went up to them and said, "Trick or treat!" they'd give me something. I didn't say it, but I went up and they kept putting stuff in my pumpkin bag. I was confused, but they kept giving me stuff, so it was fun.

One man even gave me a necklace that has a smiley face bottle that Mummy says has BUBBLES inside! WOW!

Everyone who saw me said my pie was such a cute and creative costume. You can see it too:

It was a lot of fun to stand there, being a pie, in front of the exercise room where people could see how yummy I looked while they walked on those funny machines. I wanted to play with the machines but Mummy wouldn't let me.

Then in the car I dumped out my pumpkin bag on my lap and discovered that what was in those weird little packages was FOOD. It was fun food too, because even though I couldn't get it out to eat it, it got all mushy in my hands and it smelled like chocolate.

Then we came home and Mummy opened some of the little packages and scooped out the melted chocolate so I could eat it. It was yummy!

I think maybe if I wear my awesome pie costume more, I might get some more chocolate. What a great deal for me! Yay!

Sincerely,

Peo

PS Even though I keep telling Mummy that I'll share my pie hat, I don't actually want to share my pie hat, and I don't like it when my friends take it off my head. The other day I cried when Xander took it off, but Mummy thought it was funny that I kept playing with Xander's puzzle while I cried about the hat. Then Xander's Mummy made him give it back to me and that was okay.

Dear World,

This is Peo.

Lately I've been having a lot of fun spinning around my living room, sometimes with my yellow or purple bucket on my head, sometimes without.

Either way, I've noticed that after I finish spinning - or sometimes before I want to be done - the room gets all twirly and I can't walk very well anymore. While this sensation is strangely addictive, it also reduces my overall spin time and has caused me to bump my head more than I'd like.

Please adjust physics to prevent this from happening, or at least delay it so I can spin for longer without wiping out onto the floor. I trust my loyal minions will see to this task immediately.

Sincerely,

Peo

Dear World,

This is Peo.

Now that I can say "duck" and have determined that ducks are the bestest things ever (aside from boobies, but if Mum's boobs ever happen to change to be duck-shaped I shall be a very happy little girl), I have also decided that anything of interest that I do not know the name of shall henceforth be also called "duck". I have had a very busy day walking around pointing to things and declaring that they are "duck", regardless of Mummy and Daddy telling me otherwise.

Please update your dictionaries accordingly. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Your Future Benevolent Supreme Global Overlord

eta...PS, Mummy says if anyone posts that that's just "ducky" she's going to send them a poopy diaper in the mail.

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,

This is Peo.

Today Daddy taught me how to dial your number with my play phone. Boy, you have a lot of numbers all the way over there in Australia! And my toy phone is a rotary because Mummy said that one is more fun than the new touch-tone type. That's a lot of dialling!

Anyway, once Daddy dialled, he pretended Grandma was on the line and wanted to talk to me. So I took the receiver and licked it. I thought maybe you might have dry knees like Mummy and Daddy, so consider your knees licked over the imaginary phone line.

Just remember: if you play with my toy phone too, you have to check that it's dry before putting it to your ear. Mummy keeps forgetting and then she says, "Ewwwwww!" when her ear gets wet with my cold drool.

Goodnight!

Dear World,

This is Peo.

Today I explored outer space[1] in my UltraPod Space Vehicle 9000[2]. I wasn't sure I wanted to go at first, but then the Crystal Blast Shield[3] was lowered, sealing me in while I was distracted by it; it's so cool that I immediately tried to leap out of my UltraPod's safety restraints to touch it, but alas, it was out of reach.

(Lately I've found clear plastics to be extremely interesting, especially Mum's water bottles. I can't figure out how there's clear wet stuff inside of clear solid stuff. It's nifty!)

Anyway, we zoomed out into space and headed for the Space Station[4], where we refuelled[5] and took on special cargo[6]. Then we proceeded to the Gamma Sector[7], where I suited up for a space walk[8]. I floated around in the vast emptiness of space[9] and then performed some scientific experiments[10] on a set of strange life forms[11]. I took careful note of the particular symmetry of the life forms[12], then signalled[13] to the ship's computer[14] that my space suit conditions were becoming uncomfortable[15]. So I returned to the UltraPod and programmed the computer to take me back home.

However, on voyage home I encountered an alien craft[16]. I was briefly concerned until the computer identified the craft's ID number[17] as part of the friendly fleet. Within seconds, I received a welcome communique from the ship's commander[18].

I pulled my ship up alongside a docking bay[19] and watched as the other ship docked. The other commander exited his ship, had a brief discussion with my ship's computer about fuelling arrangements[20], then returned to his ship while I turned around and entered my home port[21].

Having returned home, I exited my UltraPod, engaged in a brief detoxification[22], and then settled in for dinner[23] and a nap.

It is very tiring to have such amazing adventures!
